Dear Justin,
The music of God is not heavy meatal, which teaches hate only. God is love and within exact interpritation of the Bible, not through Rock music, we may begin to understand Him.

Actually, i cannot seem to find any scriptures outlining how much beat or rythum, or how loud music is allowed to be before it is termed satanic.
My issue with constantly calling all rock music, even Christian rock, satanic, is that there is simply no scriptural basis for this. It is the message, not the beat.

Hi Barbara,

Here is a link to their Web Page PoD Payable on Death

I dont think there are any words there to their songs but there are some Music samples. I havent listened to any of them though, mostly Im too busy and would rather listen to Christmas Music right now.

http://www.payableondeath.com/

This should be a link to the CD cover. The CD Cover is full of New Age Symbols. I think every type of Symbol is on there except for a Christian Symbol or something but apparently their use of so many non-Christian Symbols is one thing that has Christians concerned.

As for their actual Music and Witness of Jesus that the band has I know nothing about them. Im just trying to give you a starting point if you want to look into it.

I think one of the Best and Most Informative Christian Resources about Music is the 2 Video set Rock Roll- Sorceres there is a link to it on the forum Start Page under Videos.

All the Best!

God Bless You,

David

It's just my opinion, mind you, but being as this group appears frequently on MTV and the Howard Stern Show, that their songs tend to be generic and don't mention Jesus, who is essential for salvation, and their way of presenting the music in the style of bands such as Black sabbath, AC-DC, and other self proclaimed Satanic bands; I wouldn't put a whole lot of store in their Christianity. That and the fact that some are wearing long hair, when if they truly read and believe the Word of God; they would know it says that long hair on a man is an shame.
This is one of their songs for those who don't know them:

Youth of the Nation

Last day of the rest of my life
I wish I wouldve known
Cause I didnt kiss my mama goodbye
I didnt tell her that I loved her and how much I care
Or thank my pops for all the talks
And all the wisdom he shared
Unaware, I just did what I always do
Everyday, the same routine
Before I skate off to school
But who knew that this day wasnt like the rest
Instead of taking a test
I took two to the chest
Call me blind, but I didnt see it coming
Everybody was running
But I couldnt hear nothing
Except gun blasts, it happened so fast
I dont really know this kid
Even though I sit by him in class
Maybe this kid was reaching out for love
Or maybe for a moment
He forgot who he was
Or maybe this kid just wanted to be hugged
Whatever it was
I know its because

chorus:
We are, We are, the youth of the nation

Little Suzy, she was only twelve
She was given the world
With every chance to excel
Hang with the boys and hear the stories they tell
She might act kind of proud
But no respect for herself
She finds love in all the wrong places
The same situations
Just different faces
Changed up her pace since her daddy left her
Too bad he never told her
She deserved much better
Johnny boy always played the fool
He broke all the rules
So you would think he was cool
He was never really one of the guys
No matter how hard he tried
Often thought of suicide
Its kind of hard when you aint got no friends
He put his life to an end
They might remember him then
You cross the line and theres no turning back
Told the world how he felt
With the sound of a gat

chorus

Whos to blame for the lives that tragedies claim
No matter what you say
It dont take away the pain
That I feel inside, Im tired of all the lies
Dont nobody know why
Its the blind leading the blind
I guess thats the way the story goes
Will it ever make sense
Somebodys got to know
Theres got to be more to life than this
Theres got to be more to everything
I thought exists

chorus

There were some lyrics that had Biblical references like Messenjah, but it sounded like they were making fun instead of exhorting. All I can really tell you is that the Bible warns us to beware of those who resort to secular ways to teach the Word of God, for they could be inspired by the "prince of this world" to draw us away from Christ. Do you think Jesus would dress and sing like past satanic bands to preach His Word? I don't, but the bottom line is, your final answer must come from Him. May you know the truth!

May God bless and keep you, my brothers and sisters!

You say: "that and the fact that some are wearing long hair, when if
they truly read and believe the Word of God; they would know it says that long hair on a man is an shame. "
I am assuming then that your wife and daughters (should you have them) will not and do not cut their hair, nor do they wear pants of any kind?

No my wife doesn't cut her hair. Not because of anything I say but because It is her glory and she lives to please God. We have no children. As far as pants, the Bible says a woman is not to wear mens clothes, and vice versa. We abide by that also. She doesn't wear my pants which are specifically made for men, and I don't wear her pants which are specifically made for women. There is no where in the Bible where it says a woman is forbidden to wear pants. That is a Pentecostal perversion of the cross-dressing verses.
May God bless and keep you, my brothers and sisters!

Someday I'd like to attend a Scottish / Chineese wedding - one where the bride wears pants and the groom wears a kilt.
